Keeping up with the "high-power, compact size" trend with bass amps, the Ampeg PF-800 Portaflex Bass Amp head packs 800 watts in an enclosure just about the size of a laptop; thanks to its Class D power amp. The MOSFET preamp gives you tube-like tone and feel with solid-state reliability. For tonal flexibility, the PF-800 features a 3-band EQ with Mid Frequency band selector, Ultra Lo and Ultra Hi boost, and built-in compressor. You also have an effects loop to optimize your effects signal chain.

To adapt to different setup types, the PF-800 has a power amp input and preamp out; so you can use it as a preamp for other power amps or for recording straight to the interface, or it can serve as a power amp for other external preamps.
