The SE Starla Stoptail is an approachable but unique guitar with its retro-inspired vibe and appointments. The SE Starla Stoptail can cut through the background noise thanks to the DS-02 treble and bass pickups, which lend a sharp high-end bark to the woody, warm middle tone produced by the all-mahogany body and two-piece adjustable stoptail bridge. The DS-02 pickups transition from clean and crisp to driving with rich harmonic overtones as the volume is increased. The 3-way blade pickup switch and push/pull tone control in the electronics arrangement allow the humbuckers to divide into single coils for even greater versatility.
A 22 fret, 25" scale length, fat mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, bird inlays, and pickguard assembly are further highlights. Feeling, tone, and style.

Features:

  • Body: The SE Starla typically features a single-cutaway mahogany body with a sleek black finish. The single-cutaway design is reminiscent of classic electric guitars and provides easy access to the upper frets.

  • Neck: It usually comes with a set mahogany neck, offering stability and resonance. The neck is often designed with a comfortable profile for playability.

  • Fingerboard: The guitar typically has a rosewood or similar high-quality wood fingerboard with dot inlays or bird inlays, which are a signature feature of PRS guitars.

  • Pickups: The PRS SE Starla may come equipped with a pair of specially designed PRS Starla humbucking pickups. These pickups are known for their unique, vintage-inspired tones and versatility.

  • Controls: The control layout often includes volume and tone knobs for each pickup, as well as a 3-way pickup selector switch for easy tonal adjustments.

  • Bridge: It may feature a stoptail bridge or a Bigsby-style tremolo bridge, depending on the specific model. This allows for different playing styles, from stable tuning to expressive vibrato.

  • Hardware: The hardware is typically chrome or nickel-plated, providing durability and complementing the overall aesthetics of the guitar.

  • Included Gig Bag: Many PRS SE guitars come with a gig bag included, offering protection during transport and storage.

  • Other Features: Depending on the model and year, the SE Starla may have additional features such as coil-tap or coil-split options, allowing you to achieve single-coil-like tones from the humbucking pickups.
