While known more widely for its fruit, Mango trees also yield beautiful and valuable lumber. The wood is considered very eco-friendly, as some Mango plantations harvest the trees for lumber after they have completed their useful fruit-bearing lifespan. Mango has a similar density to mahogany, and if used correctly, it can sound even sweeter than koa and warmer than mahogany.The neck and fingerboard of the DUC450 are made from African okoume and Walnut. It’s a great combination that guarantees a stable intonation across the fretboard, is gentle to your hands, and looks great as well.The nut may seem to be a small component, but it plays a critical role in the quality of the sound of an instrument.The nut and saddle of the DUC450 are made from bone (not from plastic).
