Sonor Benny Greb 13 x 5.75 " Signature Snare Vintage Brass, with Centered Stripe
A decade after the highly successful initial collaboration for a Signature Snare drum with the versatile and close member of the SONOR family, Benny Greb, the Benny Snare is making a return, and it's come with some impressive upgrades. In Benny's own words, this isn't just an update; it's a significant improvement.
The existing 13 x 5.75" Beech snare drum, featuring an outer layer of Scandinavian Birch veneer, now boasts an elegant Bubinga wood inlay and vintage-inspired 1950s Vintage Teardrop Lugs. It also incorporates the exceptional Dual Glide snare strainer for superior performance. Notably, it introduces a new damping mechanism called the "MonoRail," with each drum sporting two of these mechanisms. Benny's preferred dampening materials, known as "The Felt" and "The Sheep," are included for maximum versatility, offering a range of sounds from funky to rich and resonant. It's worth mentioning that the dampeners can be interchanged to provide even more sonic options.
But that's not all. The brand-new Benny Greb Signature Brass model has arrived, featuring a Vintage Brass Finish and Teardrop lugs on a 1.2mm Brass shell. It exudes the warm and rounded characteristics typical of brass material, with pleasing overtones that accentuate rim shots on the drum's edges. Its dimensions, borrowed from the original wood version, provide depth and sensitivity to the snare, making it Benny's preferred metal shell snare drum ever created.
